About Us
WHO WE ARE
Bifox is an Australian/Chilean phosphate rock producer. We are focused on the mining production of phosphate rock in Chile through our Chanaral and Selaqueos projects.
As previously mentioned, Bifox is an emerging phosphate rock producer focused on becoming a leading supplier to the LATAM and U.S. markets. Its objective is to develop a multi-asset phosphate portfolio through a combination of organic growth from our existing portfolio of assets in Chile, acquisitions in LATAM.
Bifox’s existing portfolio comprises the following assets:
- The Chanaral project is a development project located in the Chanaral region of Chile, close to port and transport infrastructure. The project is currently an underground mine and management intends to expand the project to an open pit mine with a production capacity of 500,000 tonnes per annum. The mine contains an igneous phosphate ore body able to be upgraded to 30% P2O5 content, making it suitable for both the local Chilean and export markets.
- The Selaqueos project is a small-scale sedimentary phosphate rock production plant (60,000 tonnes per annum capacity) located in Bahia Inglesa, in the Atacama region of Chile. The project ready to produce phosphate rock at 20% plus of P2O5 content, for use as a direct application fertiliser.
- The Company holds other phosphate tenements (the Kiwanda and Bahia Salada projects) in Chile that may be developed at a later stage subject to mine economics.
Our LATAM based mining development team has significant experience in developing mining and other projects in LATAM. Our engineers have decades of experience covering all stages of project development, including mine engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and safety.
One of our main accomplishments is that our mining extraction is carried out with the least possible environmental impact. We understand this is the way to contribute both, to produce key nutrients required for a sustainable agriculture and to environment preservation.
