Phosphate, and the future of our food.

February 5, 2024

Last December IFA presented the role of food and food systems in climate change through its engagement at COP28.

In this video IFA summarizes the importance of phosphorus, the need to improve this resource to estimate world’s phosphate rock reserves.

Also, during 2023 IFA focused its work on three critical challenges:

  • Balancing the food security and climate mitigation objectives of food systems,
  • Financing the transition of agricultural systems to a carbon neutral future,
  • Protecting and restoring soil health and ensuring its recognition across UN Conventions.

In addition, it ensured the visibility of the fertilizer industry, shared its solutions for climate adaptation and mitigation, and participated in critical dialogues with key partners and stakeholders of the agri-food chain.
