Bifox-20

Bifox Highly Reactive Phosphate Rock with 20 % p2o5 content. It’s a natural reactive phosphate from sedimentary origin. It has francolite as a main mineralogical component, explaining its high reactivity in soil and relative agronomic effectiveness compared to soluble phosphate fertilizers.

Benefits

  • Highly bioavailable and slow release phosphorus.
  • Low fixation losses under low pH soils, allowing farmer to reach a high phosphorus use efficiency.
  • Lower phosphorus runoff associated with the slow release characteristics that in turn reduce the P environmental impact at agroecosystem level (e.g. eutrophication issues).
  • Maximum apparent phosphorus recovery under perennial crops (e.g. pastures, fruit crops, etc.) or crop rotations.
  • Plant-available calcium to improve crop yields and quality.
  • Ameliorate acid soil conditions by increasing soil pH and base saturation.
  • Minimum heavy metal content.
  • Suitable for either traditional or organic farming.
  • Low carbon and water footprint associated with the marine sedimentary natural origin of the Bifox’s phosphate rock compared to manufactured soluble phosphate fertilizers.

Bifox’s phosphate rock is a natural source of phosphorus for plant nutrition

At Bifox we are committed to produce and distribute innovative, high quality phosphate based fertilizers for sustainable agriculture.

Phosphorus (P) alongside Nitrogen and Potassium are the three primary macronutrients essential to successful plant growth.

Without Phosphorus, photosynthesis could not occur. Phosphorus plays a key role in complex energy transformations that are necessary to all life, as a main ingredient in ATP (adenosine triphosphate). It is also a central component of DNA and RNA – and is necessary for building proteins and other compounds.

Phosphorus is required by the plant from the seedling stage through to maturity – and has a measurable impact on crop quality and yield.

Phosphorus key roles in plant growth and plant health:

  • Enables photosynthesis (energy transformation)
  • Builds nucleic acids, proteins and enzyme
  • Facilitates root growth
  • Strengthens stems and stalks
  • Improves flower formation and seed production
  • Promotes crop uniformity
  • Improves overall crop quality
  • Increases disease resistance
  • Contributes to earlier maturity
